I began my career in the field of rehabilitation at MERS Goodwill Aftergut doing supported employment assessment and job development.  In 2008 I obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Maryville University.  That same year, I became a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and also began working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in the St. Louis Downtown VR office.  I specialized in Individual Placement and Support, a job placement program for people with severe and persistent mental illness.  In 2012, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor.

In June 2012, I was promoted to Assistant District Supervisor of the St. Louis West VR office.  I worked closely with the transition counselors, Special School District, and St. Louis Public Schools.  In May 2016, I was promoted to District Supervisor at the St. Louis South VR office.  Then in January 2018, I transferred to the St. Louis Downtown VR office, as District Supervisor, and I continue to serve in this capacity.

I have found my “second paycheck” here at VR in watching the counselors grow and develop their strengths, and watching consumers achieve their goals.  For me, the field of vocational rehabilitation is extremely rewarding, in that we are helping people change their lives for the better every day.

I have served as an MRA Eastern Chapter Board Member in various roles since 2009.  During this time, I have had the opportunity to network with many professionals in the field of rehabilitation.  I believe that when we all work together, we can achieve great things!  I look forward to seeing the MRA Eastern Chapter continue to grow in the coming years!
