Mercy

Marisa started a new role at Mercy Hospital as Disability Inclusion Operations Manager for the entire ministry in August of 2021. As D&I Operations Manager, Marisa is continuing to work on initiatives to promote hiring and growth within in Mercy for individuals with disability. These efforts reach across the ministry: Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Marisa is Vice Chair of the Disability Resources Council at Mercy. Marisa oversees four active committees dedicated to education, job preparedness, building partnerships and training and development of applicants, coworkers, and leaders.

Along with being active with MRAEC, Marisa has been Co-Chair of the St. Charles County Nexus Group for the last five years. The Nexus Group is a partnership of businesses, community agencies and other WIOA stakeholders whose mission is to “leverage career opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment through collaboration and business partnership.” This group will be merging with the STL Nexus in January 2021 to form the Gateway Employment Nexus.

Prior to serving at Mercy, Marisa worked at MERS Goodwill for eleven years at the St. Charles Career Center. She started her career with MERS Goodwill as a job developer and moved up to Director within two years. Marisa's experience and educational background was in Criminal Justice. Marisa was employed working as a probation officer before moving back to the St. Louis area. Not exactly sure what a "job developer" did, Marisa applied for the job, interviewed, and was offered the job!
